Heather has been working in health science and educational writing for nearly two decades. Her training consists of dual bachelor's degrees in microbiology and philosophy, a master's degree in nutrition science, and completion of over 1300 hours of supervised residency practice requirements for accreditation by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN).  She is a Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN) in the state of New Mexico.

Heather maintains a tele-health clinical nutrition consulting practice and has advanced her career in education and technical writing/editing. She has previously acted as faculty as well as developed curriculum for undergraduate nutrition science courses and has worked in nutrition research at FHCRC in Seattle, WA. She has directed nutrition and health science education efforts in outpatient cardiac rehabilitation centers, community health clinics, women’s health, weight management, and childhood development. She has led a wide variety of other public and corporate health education initiatives within various communities across the country.
